Hi-Fi Man EF2A Tube USB DAC Headphone Amp

Hi-Fi Man EF2A Tube USB DAC Headphone Amp

  • Compact headphone amp
  • Hybrid vacuum tube / solid state design
  • Inputs: USB and analog RCA
  • DAC Chip: Burr-Brown PCM2702
  • Outboard power supply
The compact EF2A headphone amp from HiFiMan offers a USB input and built in DAC with Burr-Brown PCM2702 chipset for direct connection to your PC. Analog RCA inputs let you plug in a line level source, such as a CD player. A front panel button lets you toggle between inputs. "This $169 little dude will deliver performance of amps twice the price... and if looks are your thing, you'll certainly be the cool kid with one of the sexiest amps around," reports Unplggd online for March 22, 2010. The smooth and rich sound quality is thanks to a vacuum tube output stage using two Chinese 6J1 tubes. The outboard power supply contributes to the quiet performance of the circuitry.

Question by Tristan: How do I convert hi fi speakers to be able to plug into a headphone socket?

Is there a way i can convert these 2 big hi fi speakers to play music from an mp3 or laptop via a headphone jack?

The hi fi speakers each have a red and black coated wire that are bare at the end which you clip into the hifi but i want to find a way to connect those bare wires to a headphone jack?

Anyone know how?

I would be really grateful

Thanks

Trist

you cant plug the speakers straight into the laptop. What you could do is plug the laptop into an amplifier and have the amplifier take the sound from the laptop and send it to the speakers.

thats the very basic concept..
