Question by just c: What type of speakers do i need to start a car audio system?

Im looking into getting a system out into my car.Its a 97 chevy blazer.the only factory speaker speaker that works is the driver side one.I have 1 sub that is a sony i believe.i don’t know the amp wattage but its a 10 inch.i need to know what size speakers i should get and if i should get another sub.I was alson wondering if i should get a box to fit all the speakers in or get 2? 1 for the subs and the other for the smaller speakers. and is a Rockford Fosgate amp good enough for all the speakers i need

You should get one amp which drives your speakers as well as your woofers. There are some amps which are designed for this. Another option is to get a bass module with the amp built in. Either way you’re going to want an amp for your mids and highs. Your local installer should be able to make some good suggestions. My advice is to bring some of your favorite music with you to help judge the sound quality of the different speakers. I have Polks in my Honda.

Question by brandon: what receiver should i buy? For a home theatre and home audio system?

I have all the wires in my house run for the speakers throughout the walls. I want the receiver to be located in the kitchen. I want to be able to control the home theatre(tv) and the home audio all from the kitchen. Must be able to shut off home theatre and listen to home audio or vice versa. Thank you!
